Miranda has done it again…another wonderful prequel to drag the reader into a different world, one full of demons, angels n prophecies. Rafe is a flawed demon, one not totally evil but willing to to do something right, correct in order to thwart The Shadow. This prequel is beautifully presented, listing the main characters, giving them almost human characteristics, making them believable while just hinting at the story to come. Definitely worth the time to read this series.

This is the prequel to the Power of Twelve and I have to say that it is a great introduction that entices you into the series to come.
Rafe is a demon of temptation and vice his longevity is beyond comprehension, he has enjoyed everything available in the world and he had found love. Hiss first and only true love an angel Nathaniel, he is Heavens golden warrior.
Rafe is trying to have Nathaniel believe that they are on the cusp of “The Second Coming” an apocalypse with an ancient force that is known as the shadow, he will most definitely alter the world as it stands and anything that balances fate has to be bad.
There is an impossible choice that has to be made and that is either to stand along side Hell or to defy his kind Rafe has to make the most important choice of his existence which will target The Shadow. In targeting the one hope that he believes humanity has and these decisions will have a major effect on the course of history.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
This short story was fascinating but did not really have enough to get a good sense of whether it was worth seeking out the follow up books.
Exciting stuff and worth recommending!
