About Us

I’m the most fortunate girl in the world. I found my soul-mate in James Horton. We do everything together including work, play, and raising our kids.

When we started our author career, James did the writing while I did the covers and editing. Every story, though, was really a combination of our work. We’ve always brain stormed together, been the sounding board for each other, and made suggestions on how to make our books better.

Then I had the idea for Tajss and a series of books so I decided to write too. Our work habits didn’t change though, James’ hands are all over my books just as mine were all over his. While we’ve always worked this way, we’ve never co-written or credited each other on our books.

The Gladiators of Krix series, set in the Tajss universe, is co-written. The idea for this story started with James and long time readers will recognize the setting.

We’ve loved writing together and hope you continue to enjoy the stories we’re weaving. It’s a lot of fun to bounce the story back and forth and we plan to stay a husband and wife writing team going forward.

p.s. We were together for 10 years before we made it official at Disney in Nov 2020. *squee*

I am a USA Today bestselling author who writes fantasy and scifi romance featuring heroes with out-of-this-world anatomy that readers call 'larger than life' and smart heroines destined to save the world.

As a little girl I would sneak off with my nose in a book and dreaming of magical realms. Today I bring those fantasies to life. I adore every fan who chooses to live in them for a while.

Though born and raised in southern Virginia, I'm an Army veteran who's traveled to places like Korea, Hawaii, and good 'ole Texas. I've settled in Kansas, the heart of America, with my husband and daughters, two cats, and wishes for a pet dragon or unicorn.

When I'm not writing, you can still find me tucked away somewhere with a warm blanket and my nose in a book.

  • Guenhwypurr

Guenhywpurr is my Maine Coon kitty cat. In the fictional universe of the Forgotten Realms, Guenhwyvar is a magical black panther from the Astral Plane. Guenhwyvar weighs about 600 lb (272 kg). The panther was created by writer R.A. Salvatore, who named one of his own cats after the panther.

  • Mewbacca

Mewbacca of Katyyyk (no longer a kitten!) is named after Chewbacca. He was a legendary Wookiee from Kashyyyk, best known for being the co-pilot of Han Solo’s ship, the Millennium Falcon.
