BEGIN THE FAE HIGHLANDER SAGA
Time bends. Magic awakens. Love defies centuries.
One moment, I’m Quinn Cameron, an archaeology student exploring the Scottish Highlands.
The next, I step through a wall of mist and land in 1592.
The Scotland surrounding me is beautiful, brutal, and nothing like the world I left behind. Clan rivalries simmer beneath every welcome. Ancient magic moves through ruined castles and mist-covered hills. Even the legends I once studied may be frighteningly real.
Then Duncan MacGregor finds me.
Brooding, honorable, and fiercely protective, Duncan is a Highland warrior shaped by duty and blood. He believes I’m connected to a prophecy that could save his people or destroy everything he has sworn to protect.
He isn’t the only one watching me.
Dugald is immortal, mysterious, and dangerously persuasive. The powerful Fae claims my arrival was no accident and insists my destiny belongs to him.
One man offers me a place in the mortal world.
The other promises answers hidden within the realm of the Fae.
Caught between them, I must uncover why the mists brought me through time and what it means to be named the Destroyer.
Every secret draws me deeper into the Highlands.
Every touch makes returning home harder.
And every choice threatens to rewrite not only my future, but the fate of two worlds.
Mists of the Highlands is the first novel in the Fae Highlander series by USA Today bestselling author Miranda Martin. It blends time-travel romance, sixteenth-century Scotland, ancient Fae magic, Highland clan intrigue, slow-burning desire, dangerous destiny, and an unforgettable love that reaches across centuries.
This book begins Quinn Cameron and Duncan MacGregor’s continuing story and should be read before the later books in the Fae Highlander series.

The story was great nice twists but not enough development between the.two love interest. And the end takes you to another book rather than finding out what happens to the lovers . That is the reason it's got a low star rating I don't want to have to read another book to find out what happens !
The plotting is very good, but time travel in Scotland has been done so many times you really need to do it better than the rest to stand out. I like Quinn and her quests. First to get to Scotland then to save Duncan. But her tale gets bogged down and drags a bit. Then just as it picks up again we’re lead to book two. If you like long convoluted stories this one is for you.
I feel cheated. The story isn't terribly original but it was engrossing enough that the abrupt dead end was a shock.Lots of editing misses, as well. Bummed.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It is so well written that it blends the present into the past and gives a reader beautiful imagery to absorb.
I liked the charisma between Duncan and Quinn… but that was it. The story was slow at first, then picked up a bit and I thought it would run ok after that. Then it turned really weird. I struggled to finish it only to find it is a cliffhanger ending. I was disappointed altogether.
