The Story Behind the Stories

I’m also the luckiest girl in the world.

I found my soulmate in James Horton, and we’ve built a life around stories. We work together, raise our kids together, brainstorm together — and somewhere along the way, we built entire universes together.

When we began our author journey, James handled the writing while I designed covers and edited. But every book was a collaboration. We’ve always been each other’s sounding board, story architect, and creative partner.

When the world of Tajss came to life in my head, I stepped fully into writing — but our process didn’t change. His fingerprints are still on my books, just as mine were on his. While we usually write separately, the Gladiators of Krix series is officially co-written — a true merging of our imaginations.

We love weaving stories side by side, and we plan to stay a husband-and-wife storytelling team for years to come.

A Little More About Me

As a little girl, I was the one sneaking off with a book, dreaming of magical realms and impossible love stories.

Today, I get to build those realms for you.

Born and raised in southern Virginia, I’m also an Army veteran who’s lived in Korea, Hawaii, Texas — and now Kansas, where I’ve settled with my husband, daughters, two cats, and a persistent wish for a pet dragon.

When I’m not writing, I’m usually under a blanket with a book in hand… still chasing that same feeling of wonder.
