Die Zeit biegt sich. Magie erwacht. Liebe trotzt Jahrhunderten.

Dann findet mich Duncan MacGregor.

Rubbish ending

The story was great nice twists but not enough development between the.two love interest. And the end takes you to another book rather than finding out what happens to the lovers . That is the reason it's got a low star rating I don't want to have to read another book to find out what happens !

I really like the premise…

The plotting is very good, but time travel in Scotland has been done so many times you really need to do it better than the rest to stand out. I like Quinn and her quests. First to get to Scotland then to save Duncan. But her tale gets bogged down and drags a bit. Then just as it picks up again we’re lead to book two. If you like long convoluted stories this one is for you.

Argh! A cliffhanger! 😖

I feel cheated. The story isn't terribly original but it was engrossing enough that the abrupt dead end was a shock.Lots of editing misses, as well. Bummed.

Mists of the Highlands

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It is so well written that it blends the present into the past and gives a reader beautiful imagery to absorb.

Unusual

I liked the charisma between Duncan and Quinn… but that was it. The story was slow at first, then picked up a bit and I thought it would run ok after that. Then it turned really weird. I struggled to finish it only to find it is a cliffhanger ending. I was disappointed altogether.

Very interesting a must try

A very strong story, but a fair warning this book ends in a continuation. It is a great and different take on a Scottish time travel. It has meddlesome Fae in the mix. Try it you won't regret it!

Continues but you don't know that until the end....won't buy this author again

I hate when an author has to trick you to buy a 2nd book because they couldn't write a complete story in one. I won't buy this author again and if you don't want to be tricked into buying more books I recommend a hard pass on this one!!!

CLIFFHANGER

The writing wasn't bad. But it was frustrating when main female character didn't get answers to her situation. Obviously to purposefully draw out and lengthen this "book." Unfortunately this ended in a cliffhanger - an unfinished book by a serial author. This partial book earns a partial rating.

Closer to a 3.75

Is this what our current generation is. No wonder they suck! Brutal words on a page tell a story of a modern woman who tangles with time travel and Fae only to wishy washy her actions. A true testament to our times.

I hate to stand alone book and if it's gonna be a stand-alone bookit should tell you From the beginning that it is a stand-alone book And I do not like I said this so I said that they need to keep that out of books

Gripping tale

This is a very interesting story that will sweep you away to the Highlands. It's well written but is a cliffhanger that will make you want to read the next book to see what happens.

Good romance story

A very touching story of love and heartache and the fight to recapture that lost piece of her heart and soul.

Love!

This book is a dream come true as I wanted to go to Mizzou as an archeology major. The author wrote a fantastic plot even though it's a serial series. The characters carry the book. If you don't like cliffhangers this book isn't for you but give it a try. Can't wait for the next book.

Great Start to a New Series!

This book grabs you from the very first page and doesn’t let go. A great first installment to the series. A great combination of time travel, love, fae and Fairies. Quinn, an archaeology student gets caught up a complex situation and is trying to make heads or tails of things. Scottish lore at its best!

Time travel and love

Excellent story. If you shy away from time travel books, don’t. This book was so amazing. I literally stayed up to keep reading this until I could no longer function. The whole story is told from Quinn’s perspective. She’s just a college girl who went to Scotland for archaeology. She started out premed, but something called to her and she switched to archaeology. And now being in Scotland is everything she has ever wanted. Be careful in the fog rolls in. All of a sudden Quinn finds her self 400 years in the past, and being rescued by Duncan McGregor of the McGregor clan. As you can imagine confusion, fear, anger, and for some reason a connection to Duncan she does not understand. Awesome story, and unfortunately a cliffhanger. It is well worth the read although waiting for the next book could be painful if it wasn’t already out. I will have to wait for book 3, but it is so worth it. Waiting for the happily ever after.

Immersive world of wonder

Miranda Martin crafts a complete world with day to day details to beautifully express what it would feel like travelling back in time. The focal characters are strongly developed and interesting background characters support well.Loved it!

Quinn and Duncan (1)

Quinn is a student of archeology and on a dig in the Scottish Highlands. Suddenly there is a fog and when it vanishes she is fourhundred years in the past. There she gets to know Duncan a member of the clan Mc Gregor. They are very attracted to each other. But Quinn knows there is a memory which is disturbing but doesn't come to surface ......I loved to read the book. It is a real page turner, it kept me on my toes from the first to the last page. Quinn are two brave and headstrong characters, who care for their people. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the next installment in this series.

Time Travel, Fae Realm, and familiar love

Quinn loves all things Scotland, she grew up hearing stories and learning the history. On an Archeological dig in Scotland, she loses her team as a storm blows in and a crazy fog separates her from them only finding herself in a crazy Scottish re-enactment of men in kilts fighting, one group wanting to do unquestionable things to her, the other trying to save her. She realizes that although she did injure her head, everything seems all to real to be pretend. She tries her best to fit in and tame her feelings for Duncan the Scottish Warrior who saved her. She starts to realize that Duncan and his time feel very familiar and she is on the cusp of putting things together when she finds herself in the Fae Realm, learning her role is more than she imagined. Can she save the Fae Realm, or will she save Duncan's Clan instead. Note- Ends on cliffhanger.

time travel

I loved reading this book but have to admit to finding one small portion of the book had a sentence or twoThat I found horrible. It was when Quinn returned from the fae lands and threw up but in the next sentence she was kissing Duncan with her tongue in his mouth! Yuck!!!

Very enjoyable book set in Scotland with some time travel involved

I was curious about what Miranda Martin would do with a time travel book, but I highly enjoyed it. I read the first twelve chapters in record time. I know that it's a departure from meeting alien men, but it is still full of action and adventure that I believe most readers will enjoy. Very fun historical book.

cliffhanger

Started slow, thought I would keep reading to see if it would get better it did not. Characters were lacking emotion. The “heroine” seemed weak and unsure of herself at every turn. The story just did not come alive for me at all. Left me wanting a lot more!

Captivating. Do you love Outlander? You will LOVE this!

I'm a huge time travel fan and had to get this book. Every page captivates and keeps you wanting to read more. I can hear the old Scottish language through the characters. If you love time travel or are an Outlander fan, you will be totally engrossed in Quinn's story. I'll read the entire series. It's that good.

Loved it!

I found this book a bit slow to start. But once it got going, it was hard to put it down. I enjoyed the characters, although Quinn seemed to be flakey, she is lovable. This book takes us back to 1603, which puts us at the beginning of a war within the clans. And now Quinn is trying to find a way to change it all. Can't wait for the next installment!.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Back in time

While this is a far different type of story for this author, it works. This is a Fae inspired time travel with an American college student on an archeological dig getting separated from her group and thrust back in time. While she is immediately drawn to one of the “locals”, Duncan MacGregor, things are not too cheery back in ye’ old Scotland. I liked that the setting was more realistic than many of the time travel romances with a realistic feel to the story. I did think that Quinn should have been a bit “smarter” sometimes but her actions were understandable considering the situation. Great read, ends on a cliff with hopefully more to come. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

Awesome

I didn’t want to stop reading this awesome book once I picked it up. I can’t wait to find out what happens with Quinn and Duncan’s lives. Will it all work out for them. I sure hope so. This book will hook you from the start, with all the action, intrigue, suspense, danger, drama, and so much more. The characters will work their way into your hearts and not let you go.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
